Permissions & Roles

Here we demonstrate how the create roles and add system permissions to roles. Roles can be modified and deleted using the edit and delete icons.

List of Permissions

Click on the Permissions item in the Security module to display all the system permissions.

The names of the permissions are self descriptive.

Roles

Roles describe what resources a user can have access to. This is sometimes referred to as Authorization.

Click on the Roles in the Security module to display the list of roles.

New Role

Create a new role by clicking on the Add button. The Add New Role dialog displays.

The fields marks * are required.

After entering the name of the role, press the Tab key to enable the Save button. Click on the Save button to commit changes.

Click on the Edit icon on the roles list page.

Modify the name of the role, and click on Update.

Role Permissions

Role permissions enable you to add permissions to a new or existing role.

Click on the Role Permissions icon on the roles list page. This displays the name of the role, and the permissions if any.

Click on the Edit button on the Role Permissions page.

You can navigate the list and check the permission to be added. In addition, you can search for a permission to add.

Click on the Update button to commit the changes.

Now the roles are ready to be added to a user.
